It was time to leave The Exumas. It is good to leave a place when you feel a little sad to leave. The Exumas are so special.
With Kenny’s help, we made it out of our slip. David quickly got us pointed forward and we headed out of the harbor. It was upwind until we rounded the rocks at the entrance so we put up a double reefed main. We made it between the rock bars as the wind and sea state picked up. We had a close reach to Cape Eleuthra.
The seas were rocky as we traveled along and had some waves hit the boat and spray the cockpit. As we reached some shelter from Eleuthra, it calmed a bit. The trip took about 7 hours. We sailed most of the way but motored as we entered the Davis Channel that leads from the tip of Eleuthra to Rock Sound. We entered Rock Sound and anchored easily.

We decided to put off a shore trip until morning and to just relax on the boat. It was a pretty evening with a nice breeze. We made spaghetti and watched the sunset.
