We spent the day at Highbourne. They accepted some old diesel that we had in jugs and we were able to fill our jugs with fresh diesel. David made some modifications so our ladder would not bounce around in the lazarette.

After lunch we decided to explore. We walked down to another bay and beach. It was beautiful and calm there. There were beach cabanas along the beach that people could rent for the day. You could also arrange for a dinner and bonfire. The cabanas had sofas and lounge chairs, coolers and showers and foot wash stations at each one. We did not rent one and I did not ask about price. On the beach they had kayaks and paddle boards for guests to use.

David pulled out a paddle board. It was a bit wider than Deb’s and we were both able to ride it standing which was quite fun. It was the first time I have been able to do it confidently.

After swimming we continued our walk around the island. We saw the large power plant that runs Highbourne and the large solar array in the background. They had several netted growing areas but I did not see any vegetables growing there. We saw Da Village where the staff are housed and it looked quite nice. We then passed some of the villas that guests can rent. They had amazing views of both sides of the island. White snails climbed the palm trunks and there were birds and flowers. There was an overlook with a porch swing

After our walk, there were two bikes available so we biked back to the beach on the Sound side. It was a lovely beach that spanned for over a mile. We swam in the waves of the Exuma Sound for the final time of our trip.

Back to the boat for dinner and then one final drink at Xumas and sunset. Our bartender was Ramone, DeCoda came over to say hello. We talked with a motor boat captain and some cruisers from Toronto for a bit .

Tomorrow we sail to Eleuthra after we maneuver Josie out of her slip.
