Up on the Rooftop

Redshanks sunrise

Happy Valentine’s Day. It was the day of the annual rooftop concert on Stocking Island where the cruiser house band and guests play music from a houseboat rooftop. We decided to have a Valentin’s lunch at Baymahni with Jeff and Deb and then go to the concert. We took Josie over in the morning to anchor and found a spot at Sand Dollar. It was an easy dinghy ride from there to lunch and then over to Chat N Chill for the concert.

Some of the musicians are really talented, some not so much, but it is quite the scene and they raise money for the Exuma Youth Orchestra. It was fun to be with Jeff and Deb and to watch the people together.

The house band

One of the musicians sang an anti-war protest song named “Universal Soldier” but mostly it was Sweet Caroline and Margaritaville. There were a few banjo tunes for Sarah who owns the houseboat and plays the banjo. And a few love songs, in honor of the day.

We sat next to a little dog who listened from the shade of her dinghy.

She moved into the prime spot when Dale got up to sing.

They raised $1300.00 for the charity. After the concert we headed back to peaceful Redshanks (Moriah Harbour moorings).
