Another round of strong winds were predicted for the weekend. We thought about going to Cat but that would be a long motor upwind so we decided against it. Conception was also out. We decided to go back to George Town and regroup. George Town is getting busy and we were not able to get a mooring ball on Stocking Island but we were able to get one at Moriah Cay Harbour. We love it there anyway.
We headed out of Calabash and planned to fish along the drop off all the way back. We saw a motor boat fishing and sort of followed him. He was fishing in the same place. We used the pink squid and the flying fish Daisy chain.

We did not get any bites but the mahi were there. On the radio, fishing boats were talking to one another. One had caught 3 mahi and were heading in. Another had caught several and were telling another boat to come over. We could not see them and they hide their location on AIS. It is good to know they are in the area.
It was a beautiful day on the sound, so calm. The trip to the cut was only four hours. We are thinking about doing it again just as a fishing trip. On our way into the cut, a dolphin swam over. I was not fast enough with a picture but you could really see him clearly in the water. We looked for others but did not see them.
We went to George Town and anchored to do a quick stop for provisioning and water. The harbour looked so full. Some mega yachts had pulled in and set up just off the channel. They had jet skis on floating docks that were anchored to their boats. They were tubing around the harbour.

We had no problem anchoring outside of town and then it was a closer dinghy ride to provision. The grocery was well stocked but crowded with frenzied shoppers.
We headed out and were glad to get back to Moriah Harbour. It was quiet and I went for a long paddle board ride. I visited the starfish and was glad to see they were still there. I went to the grotto and the beach by the overlook trail.
I was coming back when I saw David sailing Fat Tuesday. He was having a good sail. We decided to take our vessels to the beach. I went back to the boat to take some pictures of him sailing first. Then I got back on my board and we went through the cut around to the beach. It was lovely there and we re-met the couple from Whiffle and their dog Bella. We saw Bella dig out a ghost crab.

It was easy for me to return to the boat through the cut but harder to sail through there. I did not think David could do it but he did. It was straight upwind to go through so he had to go at an angle and still avoid the shallow water. It was a very fun evening.
