Up for Chris Parker (weather). Getting used to the format. He starts with Bahamas, then east coast. In each section, he reviews weather, then discusses departure windows, then fields questions. When we asked a question, he called our boat Jose.

Our weather window to Charleston tomorrow is not as good anymore because sw winds will build as early as Sunday evening. But we can do a shorter passage to Wrightsville Beach or Southport. To get into Southport, we have to go around Frying Pan shoal which is scary but we should get to that area with no wind at all.
Very cold today with temperatures in the 40’s and blowing like crazy. Feel bad for the pirates who are camped out along the boardwalk. We are warm and cozy in our boat with heat on thanks to shore power. It was not, however, too cold for ice cream.

We went to grocery to get warm instant things like instant oatmeal and cup a soup. My plan is to have hot water stored so that we make these easily without cooking if needed. We have two large thermos containers. The courtesy car we took today had all the lights on including the brake light. “It has a history of overheating so watch the temperature.” Also, the driver side door handle is broken so you have to roll the electric window down to open the door.
While waiting for Austin to arrive, we walked down to pirate land where some hard core pirates were shooting cannons and playing music. We sang along to Day-O and A Pirate’s life for me. They had interesting drums, a penny whistle, guitars, and accordion. We followed them to the warmth of the Dockhouse Bar and watched more music. There was a great singer there. A pirate who makes knives and swords was there, planning to visit him tomorrow at his shop. He proposed to his gf at the bar last night. Made a declaration in a pirate way that “every captain needs a first mate ,” and then he bent down on one knee and proposed. He gave her a ring he had made.

Austin arrived, we went to Mescalito and had tacos.
The cares of tomorrow can wait until this day is done- lyrics to a pirate song.
