We spent the day making adjustments. We washed clothes, including those we had relegated to stay salty: bathing suits and swim shirts. We washed the salt off the decks and porthole windows. We walked down a large sidewalk and when we had to walk along the road, walked on a different side to face traffic. The view from our dock was of bridges and large boats and cruise ships and the water was dark green and turbid. We saw pelicans flying and some ibis and heron. We looked for alligators in the drainage ponds along the road. There were signs of them but we did not see any.

We decided to rent a car to do some errands and to visit the Kennedy space center. We took an uber to a car rental on Merrit Island. There was a rental car place near the cruise ship terminal within walking distance but the cars were twice as much there. We went to west marine and bought another snap shackle for our boom preventer so we could have one on each side. We had an ice cream on the way back.
We heard from Fishes. They had been in St. Augustine and had made their way to Ponce Inlet where they had some engine trouble. They were going to get hauled out there to take a look at things. We were sad they were having trouble but glad we might be able to cross paths with them again.
The weather is still not good for travel north outside in the ocean. We are planning to move on the ICW until we can make an outside passage. Tomorrow we will stay in Port Canaveral and go to the Kennedy Space Center. It is supposed to be stormy tomorrow so it is not a great travel day . Thursday, we will prepare to head to Ponce Inlet. The plan will be to head toward the waterway and work our way northward through Florida.
