Happy belated Birthday to Sara!
Clouds entered the area with the approaching front. Stiff winds are expected for the next two days starting tonight but it looks like today will be ok except for clouds and stray showers. We decided to dinghy to Starfish Beach and do the short hike over to the ocean side to see the tide pool and the blowhole.

Everyone enjoyed the short trail through the jungle. I found a palm section for weaving and Hanna cut it for me. We hiked to the tide pool and the fountain and swam in the tide pool. It was more rough than usual, a completely different Sound from yesterday with white caps and waves. Hanna and Marina brought goggles and discovered a rocky hole in the tide pool with small reef fish hiding out from the rough waters. A damsel fish was the star of the show.

We ate lunch by the fountain. We had not brought our cooler. David went back to get it and sighted five large hermit crabs walking down the trail. When he approached them, they went in their shells and flopped over. We are not sure where they were all going but they must have been communicating in some way.
We then explored the rocks and shells and found many treasures. The blow hole was blowing intermittently, when it could with the battering of waves. Ocean spray was reaching the top of the rocks.

Some of us walked on to Flip Flop Beach, where we swam in the calm water. We made our way to Da Sand Bar where Marina and Kevin were waiting. We played Jenga and a little soccer and volleyball there and then headed back to Starfish where the dinghies were.

It was a rough dinghy ride back to the boats. The group on the inflatable got soaked. It was too rough to return to Josie for a group dinner. Back on Josie, we hauled Fat Tuesday in the most wind ever but did not have trouble. The gusts were in the 30’s from the north east, the most wind we have had here. We had faith in our mooring as we went to sleep.
