A Change in the Weather

Sunrise

We knew the wind was going to pick up and veer to the west and then north. In the morning, things were not too bad. We should have gone to the beach but were busy continuing our drying out process. The water became rougher, making a dinghy landing on the beach less possible. We spent the day on the boat.

West wind and waves

When Fat Tuesday became a little too rowdy, we pulled her up on deck . We heard from Finn and family that they were trying to get here in the weather. They were having a salty sail. We had good sun for drying and a lot of logistics to take care of and were able to get some of that done. David studied charts to Long Island and the Ragged Islands.

Some people actually loved the windy conditions. There were various kite hydrofoilers out there racing back and forth. It looked really fun but much too fast for me. Paddle boarding is more my speed.

In the afternoon, we played some games and did some puzzles. It was a quiet day in terms of activities. They did have boat bingo on the radio but we did not have a card. Around five, we heard that Finn and family had arrived safely. We welcomed horn blowing and a beautiful sunset.
