It was sunny in morning and we were anxious to get off the boat. By mid morning, the last of the wet seat cushions had dried. It was a bit windy but winds were from the northeast so it was calmer on our side of the harbour. We launched Fat Tuesday easily and then launched the paddle-board and rowed and paddled to shore.

We were in need of a good walk so we took the trail across the island from Sandollar beach to the ocean side. Baymahni Resort is really making an impact on this end of the island. Our trail crossed a major road. I think they are building the Queen’s highway in there. I am not sure how far their property extends but it is clear that there are plans for extensive development. They are planning at least 16 residences.

After crossing the road, we continued on the trail to the ocean side of the island and walked down the beach. We made it to our favorite stretch of beach a sandy spot with no rocks and more regular waves. We named it Marina’s Beach as it was her favorite place to go on her visit last year. We swam in the waves and did some body surfing.

We headed back the same way so we could eat lunch in time for volleyball at 2 pm. We took the dinghy and motor to Chat N Chill beach for volleyball. Fun volleyball was a little slow to start so David joined serious volleyball for a bit. Once fun got going, he changed teams. It was a bit too serious over on the other side. We both played several games and then decided to head back.

We were sitting in the cockpit awaiting sunset when a dinghy came to our boat. Our neighbor, several boats down pulled up and asked if we wanted to share a cocktail with him. He was trying to meet people on the neighboring boats.
He came aboard, complete with cocktails, and a fresh nutmeg and grater for the garnish. He is Greg from the schooner Tom Bombadil. He is taking care of the boat for his parents while they are away in Hawaii. He is a shipwright by trade and specializes in Scandinavian viking ships but will do other wooden boat projects. We talked for a while and then he headed back to the boat. We planned a tour of the schooner.
Some great news. My keyboard is working again! And, we did not miss boat bingo. It is tomorrow night and we got bingo cards for us and for Jeff and Deb at volleyball today. Boat bingo dinner scheduled for tomorrow evening.
