It looked like at the very least, we would have gentle winds for an outside passage. It would also be warmer. We headed out. There was a slow roll but it was otherwise calm. Light winds were behind us. We tried our main but winds were too light to do much. We reefed and left it up for stability. It looked like a motor passage. As we went out, we passed a shrimp fleet with nets down.

Our auto pilot could handle the gentle roll without difficulty. We settled into our watch routine. We lost cell and internet service. David decided to put a pole out and troll. About 30 minutes later, we had a fish! A beautiful bonita. We cleaned it and stored it for a nice dinner in Charleston.

Sunset was beautiful followed by moon and stars. There were a few other sailboats making the trek. The closest to us was S/V Coddiwomble. It means to travel to an unknown destination, to be open to discovery.

We took turns watching and snoozing. We arrived at Charleston inlet at sunrise. We plan to anchor until our slip opens up around noon. The tide will be good for docking at that time.
