Rainy Departure

The group had arranged to get a ride to Georgetown around 4. They were up early to pack as much into the last day as possible. We headed to the art trail and then across to the ocean side. David and Marina did a little snorkeling off the rocks but some locals were fishing on the point cliffs and we did not want to disturb them.

Limpet, Rock, Driftwood Spinner

We saw sea urchins tucked in rock holes and some damsel fish in tide pools. We then walked to the end of the island and explored sand dollar island and sand bar. Sand dollars were found, some live. Miles collected some nice treasure for photographing as well. Live conch were spotted in the grass.

Urchins

We made the long trek down sand dollar beach back to our dinghies. Small conch once again could be seen along the shoreline as we walked. The next event was a stop at Peace and Plenty which was making up for lost time from being closed yesterday. No conch salad but regular and alcohol free pina coladas were a hit.

We then made our way to the favorite beach for some final wave action. People stayed in the water for a long time, reluctant to part ways with the ocean. Finally it started to rain and we moved to a little drier area at Chat N Chill. We played Chauncey at a picnic table. Some people bought a barbecue plate. The barbecue was seasoned with a honey mustard sauce. David took the game, no Chauncey’s.

Around 4 pm, Mathieu came in a dinghy to take the crew across to Georgetown. It started to rain harder as they made their way. George Town was barely visible as they made their way across. We went back to Josie to dry and warm up. The group made it to their apartment and were able to get clean, dry and warm. We looked at pictures for a while before bed.
