Farewell Kevali

Sara had arranged for Norman , the Kevali caretaker to water taxi the group to George Town Town at 9 am. We headed over to the house around 7. We made some eggs and coconut bread toast. John got coffee going. People emerged in stages, gathering things and packing. It rained, a very brief shower.

Michael checked in to getting on the same flight instead of one at 5. They told him he could go and be on standby for a seat and apparently there were a few seats left. He decided to go for it but was conflicted over wanting to spend a few more hours. Austin played the guitar for a few minutes once everyone was packed and ready.

They boarded the water taxi and were off. We were sad. We went back to the house and started moving our stuff out and cleaning a bit. David ferried the guitar and a few larger items back to the boat while I cleaned and packed the leftover food.

The house really was beautiful and once well loved. I love the way they painted the boards and loved the wrap around screen porch. We said goodbye to Norman the frog and a little ray in the cove.

On our way back to the boat, we saw a sea plane landing overhead. It landed in the harbor and motored to the Chat N Chill beach. There was a big gathering there and they had put up colored umbrellas. We do not yet know what the occasion was.

Once back on the boat, we put things away and gathered the snorkel gear to return in town. We decided to explore the laundromat while we were there. There was a large church gathering with a band in town. Everyone was very dressed up. We discovered the ice cream shack while the laundry was going. The owner had just arrived with some new gallons of ice cream. We sat in a spot of shade and ate our ice cream. Other people saw us there and came over to the stand. The ice cream is home made and the coconut was excellent.

We filled water jugs. There were people unloading large boxes of cat litter at the dinghy dock. They were donating it to the local humane society. We helped carry some. We crossed back over and figured out how to watch the Super Bowl on our iPad. Tubi gave us free access. We both watched and snoozed.

Austin and Sara were the first to get home. We got pictures of Burt welcoming them and Cholula was holding a grudge and was under the bed. John got stuck in Charlotte but later got home. Michael got stuck in Denver for the night.

It was calm enough to leave Fat Tuesday tied behind the boat for the night.
