An Assortment of Footwear

All of our visitors made it home today. Michael was the last with a delay in Denver. We caught up on a few things and thought about a plan to sail to Cat Island tomorrow for an exploration. Cat Island is about 45 miles away so a good sail across Exuma Sound. It should be possible to sail there and back with an east wind. Long Island is also supposed to be nice but is due east so we would have to motor. Some friends of ours went to Cat Island last week and liked it.

We tried to convince Jeff and Deb to journey with us but they are enjoying the down time and also helping another boat get to Georgetown. Their other friends made it to Highbourne Cay yesterday.

Jeff and Deb were interested in going to starfish beach and hiking in the afternoon. They picked us up in Patoonk and we landed on starfish beach. We hiked across the trail to the fountain and the blowhole. We also found a waterfall.

David had forgotten his footwear but luckily there was a whole supply marking the trail. He decided on a lovely blue right slide and a grungy left black high top. He checked the high top thoroughly for creatures before putting it on. He opted out on the lovely white dansko clog, also a left.

The blowhole was not quite as spectacular on a lower tide but still produced some mist on a good wave. A few times, I could see a rainbow in the mist. Also we found a new fountain.

Deb found a bench with treasures

We then hiked to flip flop beach and worked our way back to Da sand bar on starfish. We sat in the shade there and had a drink. They had a block jenga game that we played. The wooden slats of the umbrella and the blocks were inscribed with boat names and messages in black marker. There was a marker at our umbrella so we wrote our boat names on the wood. I toppled the tower.

We got back to the boat and cooked up the leftover lobster with some pasta and snow peas. We listened to some music and chatted with John before bed.
