West Palm Beach anchorage to Old Port Cove Marina, North Palm Beach

We were looking for a change of scene and a place to weather the next few days of high wind. There was no viable marina space south so we decided to come a few miles north. Our last part is in Riviera beach but they do not deliver on Sundays. It should arrive sometime tomorrow.

Fat Tuesday was on deck and we left rather abruptly and did not really have time to say goodbye to Laci and Mike except by text. We will hope to meet up with them when we go back to pick up our part tomorrow.

We wanted to get to new spot around slack tide so we caught the 11:45 Flagler Bridge opening and headed North. The water cleared beautifully as we neared the inlet and then got murky again. We had no trouble in the channel except for small motor boats and jet skis flying by which was an annoyance because of wake but not a danger. I think that gave us an idea of what the stretch to Lauderdale may be like on the inside but it may not be as bad on a weekday.

We had perfect docking at the marina; they are super kind and helpful here. We did a pump out then walked around. It was too late in the day to venture to the barrier island park across the waterway from us. We found a wonderful grocery called Doris Italian Market and Bakery. This place is amazing with your favorite Italian foods and desserts. Also, there is wine and a wonderful seafood selection. We wish we had a larger freezer! Will return tomorrow.

We returned to the boat after the happy hour wings at Stormhouse Brewing. We did laundry and played a bad game of pool in the boaters lounge. I won when David knocked in the 8.
