The weather window was favorable for an outside passage. We decided to try for St. Simon’s Island. David’s cousin Steven and his wife Christina live there most of the year and will be there until the 13th. It would be fun to meet up with them.
Cold morning. Winds decreased during the morning and we left the harbor around 11 am. Several other boats were heading out this morning including Pasha that we saw in Beaufort.

We passed Fishes on the way out. They took a picture of our boat.

We had good sailing winds during most of the day, picking up in the early evening. Waves were behind us 3-4 feet. At some points we were making 7 knots!
Sailed and motored some during the night. The crescent moon helped give us light for part of the night. Passed the inlet to Beaufort, SC., Hilton Head and Tybee inlet, the inlet to Savannah. Some ships were anchored outside Tybee but no moving traffic.

At sunrise on December 7 we are still underway, motoring. Our starboard winch seems to have a problem. We have about 4 hours to go to the inlet. A marina is waiting there for us.
