The weather was supposed to be a little better with only scattered showers predicted and a little less wind. The ocean was still quite disturbed so we opted to head up the waterway.
We passed through the famous Daytona area where there are four bridges in a little over 1 mile stretch. Coming from the south, there are two fixed bridges, then the famous Main St. Bridge that has to open, then another fixed bridge.

After passing Daytona, we entered more narrow canals with lovely homes on either side. Then it became more rural again as we entered the Matanzas River.

About 2 hours before St. Augustine, the sky grew dark and the wind picked up again. We had some rain for a little while. The heavy winds continued but we reached our mooring. We were with the current but against the wind. David got me in range and I picked up the mooring pendant on the first try, then dropped it because it was slippery with algae. We missed on the second try. Third time was the charm.
