Thanksgiving was beautiful and sunny. Feasting aboard Nautilus was due to begin around 2. Cooking commenced earlier on both boats. The pumpkin pie was first up, a regular size for sharing. Sweet potatoes were baked and regular potatoes peeled and waiting. Cranberry relish was prepared.

With prep work done, we went for a walk. We passed several kumquat trees.

We returned to make a salad with pomegranate and pink grapefruit. We applied marshmallows to a portion of the sweet potatoes but without a broiler, they just melted right in.
Deb had the boat decorated with some be thankful banners and paper turkeys. A fine buffet of turkey breast, stuffing , gravy, and spinach soufflé occupied the galley and the navigation station.

Dawson was very good to allow us on the boat without barking or growling. At one point, he let me pet him, for a moment.
The food was delicious and we played mexican train dominoes between dinner and dessert. It was a fun game to learn. Pumpkin pie was excellent.

After dinner we returned to the boat to study routes again. We decided to make a run on the waterway. On the second night we are hoping to be near the Savannah river inlet for a day hop outside to St. Simon’s.
We leave at 9 am to make the first opening of the Wapoo River Bridge at 930. This next section is mostly about tide, current and depth. We will have to time certain areas to get through at mid to high tide.
