We made it easily out of slip 6 and the marina basin. We had planned a stop at Allan’s Cay to see some iguanas. They are rock iguanas and come to the beach when a boat pulls up. You can feed them vegetables from a distance. They do have teeth and poor eyesight so keep your distance when food is in play.

The anchorage for the iguana beach is on the west side of Allen’s. It is small and there is lots of current. We made our way in. We were unsure of the whole situation but decided to give it a try since we were so close. There were two other anchored boats there. David found a spot and our anchor held.
We launched Fat Tuesday and headed over to the beach. A large group was leaving so we had the beach to ourselves. Iguanas were everywhere and more came out to greet us. David gave them some lettuce. They were beautiful and looked healthy. It was a rather eerie scene. Once we had filmed some iguanas, we headed back to the boat. A catarmaran was coming in and trying to anchor. We gladly gave up our spot.

Once we were out from the island, we were able to sail. It was great to turn off the motor. We sailed until we reached the Shroud Cay entrance. Fat Tuesday rode along behind us.

We had planned to moor at Shroud but when we got there, people were anchored and there was only one mooring which looked a little sketchy with a lot of rust where the pendant attaches. We anchored easily.
Shroud is part of the Land and Sea Park and is really beautiful. It is where we saw the turtles last year. We plan to do the creek trek in the morning but for now we just took the dinghy to a beautiful little beach that you can’t see from the anchorage. We had seen it last year on our dinghy ride to the creek. We swam and tried to rescue a starfish that was still alive but getting washed in.

We returned to the boat for sunset. We made a batch of spaghetti sauce. Early to bed. Tomorrow’s plan is to go to Sanctuary Creek to look for turtles and swim in the washing machine. We will head to Warderick Wells in the afternooon.
