Big Rain

In the morning there were threatening clouds from the north. We were meeting Ron the snorkel guy from Tazan to rent some equipment. The others would meet us in George Town after meeting Kevin and Marina. We made it across and ran a few errands. The others made it over and then it started to rain. It poured and then sprinkled for several hours. It was the most rain we had seen here.

We went to the market during the worst downpour. The shelves were still quite empty. No eggs, no lettuce, no onions. We decided to walk to the other market to see what they had. It was our first time walking all around Lake Victoria, the inner harbor of George Town. We visited the Shop Rite Mart which was better stocked but still no eggs or lettuce. I did find some great onions there.

Kevin and Marina arrived on time and the rain let up. It was still questionable for crossing, however, so we decided to have lunch at Sandpiper. We sat in the back garden after drying our table. It was very tropical but not buggy. The group had had some bugginess on their boat from the brief rain the night before and the winds dropping.

After lunch we noticed on the way to the dinghy dock that there were a lot of empty boxes in the cargo hold of the market. We found eggs this time and bought some. Will check for lettuce tomorrow or Wednesday.

Around 3, we met at Chat ‘N’ Chill. We saw some rays near the conch but did not get to pet them. We then made our way to the seaside beach by walking from Chat ‘N’ Chill , crossing the channel and then taking the path over. We had another lovely swim in the ocean.

Boat spaghetti and Chauncey on the boat. Miles was the winner with a score of 207!
