We continue to be moored off Stocking Island. The settlement of George Town is across the harbor. The morning was calm with winds predicted to pick up in the late afternoon and continue for a few days so it was a good day for a run to town to replenish supplies, dump trash and explore a bit.
The dinghy ride was fine, a lot of boats and wake but we were dry and it was not too rocky. To get to George Town, you first enter a large harbor. The Exuma Yacht Club is there with some docks and slips. Then you pass under a very narrow bridge into lake Victoria, a small basin, surrounded by businesses. The Shell station is on one side where you can fill cans with fuel. The water spigot and dinghy dock are on the other side.
Deb and Jeff were heading over and were waiting at the dinghy dock to help us navigate our first trip. We went to the part of the dock where you get water first and filled our containers. We then tried to find a parking spot for our dinghy at the end of the dock.

The first stop after the trash truck was the liquor store. We bought some Bahamian rum and some Sands Pink Radlers , a beer with grapefruit juice. I also got a bag of jujube fruits. These are small grape size fruits that have sort of an apple taste with a seed in the middle. They are green to gold.

We then visited the grocery, Exuma Market, which is right behind the dinghy dock. David visited the atm at the bank. the grocery was much more fully stocked than I expected. They had some off brands of things that were much cheaper. I was able to buy some nice looking oranges and apples, and arugula.
After the grocery, Deb and Jeff headed back and we walked down to the market area. A woman was selling breads and things there. We bought another loaf of coconut bread. We thought about having lunch there but wanted to get the groceries back to the boat. Next time we will bring a cooler and do some exploring before shopping. We stopped at the T shirt stand to buy some shirts supporting the cruisers regatta, an event in February that helps raise money for charities in the community.
We headed back to the boat in time for volleyball, swimming and beach time. The wind was picking up as we got back to the boat and we raised Fat Tuesday onto the deck for the night.
