We rolled our way in to the harbor with waves on our quarter. With each set, we would roll side to side, a good test for our stowage systems. Only one bucket fell out of its place which was pretty good. We were downwind and wanted to raise our Genoa but noticed that the starboard winch was not functioning properly. We continued with the motor roll.

We hailed the marina and got our docking instructions. They had us on an outer dock, behind another boat with lots of room. They told us about the current and we turned to come up current. There was a tall ship with no power coming out as we neared our slip and we made the turn and approached the dock easily.

We cleaned up the cockpit and went straight to nap. It was warmer so we did not need the heat on.

Around 530, Steven picked us up to take us to their house and then dinner. Christina had prepared some gingerbread amongst other treats and the house smelled cinnamon and ginger. The neighborhood is on a Christmas light trolley tour so their street was decked out. There was one neighbor who had his lights synced to music on a radio frequency.
The house was lovely, Christina has four Christmas trees. There is a tiny terrier named Buttercup. Christina collects homemade quilts and miniature paintings on 3 x 3 canvases. The paintings are displayed in her “gallery”, an-old post office box section with the front removed. Picture to follow. Steven paints with acrylics in a shed in the back, larger paintings of flowers, an abstract sun and water, a geometric of a sailboat. He is also in a band playing the ukulele and mandolin. We remembered and recounted stories of Joan and Dottie and Grammy Gibson and caught up on all the children.
We went to dinner at Ember, a cozy restaurant that advertises farm to fire . They have a lovely large tiled pizza oven as you enter. Such a great appetizer menu that several to share is all you need. It reminded me of Bang or Curate. We shared a Caesar salad, where the romaine had been dredged through the fire, some lamb rack chops and a Brie triangle with home made bread and jam. I wonder if they ever sell any of their entrees.

Back to boat for warm, calm sleep.
