We left our old marina at slack tide. With lines and a couple of dockhands, we were able to turn Josie around so that we could exit going forward. After that, David did a beautiful job despite the strong wind against us.

We motored to Safe Harbor Charleston City Marina. They placed us on a long dock with a port tie. The current was starting to run against us. Docking was smooth with a port tie against the long dock with the wind pushing us toward the dock.
The Fishes came over to the marina to tackle laundry backlog. They visited our boat for awhile and had lunch with us. Kids did their schoolwork. Dads talked engines and spare parts. Brandi and David compared and shared weather app features. So fun to be with the kids. I miss our kid friends from home, Isabella, Sofia, Chago and Cristian.

We walked into town in the afternoon after meeting Richard, a former sailor, now on the motor vessel Circe. He and his wife started at age 60 and sailed for 6 years. He did a blog and sent us the link. He and his wife now travel with a lovely dog Otis.
Walked along the shops of King Street. A restaurant we had passed last night was closed and we landed at the bar of the Rusty Bull Brewery. I highly recommend the hot honey chicken sandwich. During our meal, the pep band from College of Charleston popped in for a tune. They all had their music clipped to their instruments on phones. I had to photograph them from the rear as there was no room to move but we loved it. Apparently on game nights, they pop in to places before the game.
We returned to the boat humming marching tunes. The Fishes came by in their dinghy to grab stuff and say goodnight. Will likely meet up with them again tomorrow.
